Maby

Maby:
Not actually a word in the English language.

Maybe:
Perhaps, not a clear yes or no.

I consostantly spell "maybe" as "maby." Maybe I am crazy for admitting that to the world.

Quaff

Quaff:
To drink heavily or in one draught.

My sister Kim has been known to quaff her pina colladas whereas I would rather sip a daqueri.

Rabbet

Rabbet:
A notch cut into a piece of wood to lock with a mating piece.

My sister Kim probably already knew what a rabbet was. Her wood shop probably has a machine just for making rabbets.

Alot

Alot:
Not actually a word in the English language.

Allot:
To assign or distribute for a specific purpose.

Lot:
1. A great number or quantity.
2. Role in life
3. Collection of similar things

A lot:
Two words that when used together mean an unspecific large number or ammount.

I ate a lot of Ice Cream this summer.
or
There sure are a lot of people at the hockey game.

The use of the non-word "alot" is one of my biggest pet peeves.

This is the begining of a new Blog.
